Printing Abstraction: Works from the Permanent Collection of the Art Students League of New York

Print is a highly transportable, easily reproducible, and often more financially accessible medium that has launched movements and careers throughout art history. Featuring works from the last sixty-five years, and explores printmaking from within the League’s collection. Through the medium of print, it highlights currents in abstraction, which has been a mainstay of the Art Students League throughout the 20th century. From woodcut to embossment, these prints celebrate the many possibilities of the form and just some of the great printmakers from the League’s history.  


Artists in the exhibition include: Will Barnet, Wörden Day, Dorothy Dehner, Seong Moy, Michael Ponce De Leon, Mavis Pusey, and Jose Urbach.
