This ongoing partnership between Nordstrom Local and League at Large features two spring-themed works by League student Beatrice Barkin, solicited through an open call. The two bold and lively still lifes display Barkin’s loose and energetic style were created using a big brush in the "alla prima" method.
Beatrice Barkin has been a student at the Art Students League for the past eight years. At the League, she discovered the use of vibrant colors that jump off the canvas. “Its all about keeping it fresh," she says. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and currently lives in Long Island with her husband and four cats. She is an active board member at the Art Students League.
