Join us for this landmark conversation with Paul J. Mateyunas; Dr. Mosette Broderick, Director of the Urban Design program at NYU; and Former U.S. Congressman John LeBoutillier, the great-grandson of League artist and arts patron Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney. Together, they will walk us through the art makers and the architectural markers of the Gilded Age in New York City and the Gold Coast of Long Island—so many of which intersect with the history of the League. It will provide a special look into the legendary Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney studio in Old Westbury on Long Island. This evening kicks off the League’s 2025 season of public programs in honor of our 150th anniversary.
