Diana Buitrago is a representational oil painter trained at Grand Central Atelier and The Art Students League of New York. Currently she teaches portrait painting and plain-air painting at Grand Central Atelier, ASL and other institutions. Representation is the primary focus of Diana's work as she aims to express her thoughts and perceptions of reality by studying nature. Diana’s major focus is portraits from life and landscape painting. For two consecutive summers, she was selected to be part of the Hudson River Fellowship, to study Landscape under the tradition of the 19th century Hudson River School of landscape painters. She is a former fellow of the La Napoule Plain-air painting Fellowship at the Château de La Napoule in the south of France. In 2019 She was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Portrait Painting by the Portrait Society of America.
