Join us for the culmination of our week-long League Comic Fest with a full day of events, including a mini-comic con, special lectures on the comics craft, and portfolio reviews. Our main gallery will host a slate of comics exhibitors — Mahdi Khene, Carmen Pizarro, Sabii Borno, Ethan Aldridge, and more — plus offerings from our current Certificate in Comics & Narrative Arts students. Come to Studio 13 for lectures on “How to Pitch for Comics,” “Scripting for Comics” with Nahuel FA and Alex Dvorak, as well as free portfolio reviews from industry pros such as Jamal Igle, Steven Walker, and others!

Laptops and notebooks are recommended. The session will begin with a short lecture followed by a studio session, where you will write a script of your own while the speaker walks around giving individualized feedback.

The session will begin with a short lecture followed by a studio session, where you will write a pitch document of your own while the speaker walks around giving individualized feedback.

How to Find an Agent in Comics with Josh Sippie

Writer, editor, and educator Josh Sippe (Barnes & Noble, Gotham Writers Workshop, The Writer Magazine) will teach you how to find an agent in comics. Agents are collaborators who leverage their knowledge and contacts in the industry to help you find clients, pitch work, and land jobs. Josh will also talk about how to stand out in a competitive market. Laptops and notebooks are recommended. If you have a website or online presence that you can share for review, Josh can give individualized feedback after the lecture.

Portfolio Reviews
Signups for portfolio reviews with industry pros will be onsite and first come, first served. Make sure to check in with Studio 13 during the day to grab your spot. Portfolio reviews will be one-on-one and a maximum of 15 minutes long.
